BECOME A MEMBER
We have four requirements for becoming a member of the Westwood family:
1. The first and foremost requirement for membership is that you have experienced a personal, spiritual transformation by trusting Christ as your Lord and Savior. The Bible calls this process being “born again” (John 3:3). Only Christians can be “members” of Christ’s church. This means that you have admitted that you have sinned. Next, you acknowledge that Jesus is God’s Son and that He paid the penalty for sin by His death on the cross. Finally, you have trusted Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior and have asked for and received His forgiveness and have committed to following Him.
2. We ask that you meet with a Decision Partner or a member of our Equipping Staff about your spiritual decision.
3. We ask that you follow the example of Christ by being baptized by immersion subsequent to your salvation experience.
4. Finally, we ask that you attend and complete the First Steps Class and sign the Membership Covenant. The First Steps class is for new and prospective members and is required to finalize your membership. The purpose of this class is to give you all the information you need to help you make an informed, prayerful decision that Westwood is the church God is leading you to.
